Recently, I had the opportunity of visiting Alaska. The breathtaking beauty of the place served as another poignant reminder of the sheer magnificence of our planet and also, its sad vulnerability. It was impossible to regard the stunning vistas of glaciers and snow-covered mountains without fearing for their capacity to prevail over human interference and indifference.
